As it’s name implies, the Ruggedized Night Vision Goggle (RNVG) is tough. Machined from billet 7075 aluminum, the housing is lightweight yet extremely durable. Most night vision goggle housings will break when dropped on a hard surface. When they do break, the most common breaking point is the hinged joint between the pod and the housing. RNVG housings , while not articulating, were designed to have the strongest connection between the housing and the individual pods on the market. Aluminum on aluminum.
